Luanda – The Public Health National Department is promoting on July 18 an informal meeting with journalists and specialists from the Health Ministry, World Health Organization (WHO) and Unicef, aimed at requesting greater involvement from these institutions in the campaign of vaccination against tetanus in Angola.
According to a Unicef press note, the objective of the meeting is to involve the civil society and the media in mobilising the people, as well as increase the quality of the routine vaccination countrywide.
“It is necessary to reinforce the vaccination against tetanus and eliminate this disease, which, above all, depends on a greater involvement of the civil society and the media in the mobilisation of the citizens”, reads the document.
The act will be chaired by the deputy minister of Health, Evelise Frestas, and is counting on the presence of representatives of the WHO and Unicef in Angola.
The event will be held under the motto “Journalists, united for the elimination of tetanus in Angola”.
