Over 200.000 women to be vaccinated against tetanus


Sumbe – At least 280.850 women aged between 14 and 48 in fertile period, will be vaccinated againt tetanus vaccine on 15-25 July in the central Kwanza Sul province by  the local Department of Public Health and Disease Control.

 

This was said to Angop on Tuesday by the head of Public Health and Disease Control section, Ana Belas Madeira.

 

She said that the campaign will be organized in two phases and for this purpose 70 teams are available for the rural areas and 135 ones for urban.

 

According to her, at least 300 vaccinators will be mobilized for the second phase.

 

Ana Bela Madeira also said that this vaccination campaign aims at immunizing women in fertile age in order to protect their babies.
