Forum recommends media cooperation to divulge indigenous medicine

Uíge – The participants in the 3rd Regional Forum on Indigenous Medicine and Complementary Practice recommended the need for creating strict cooperation with media, in particular the community radios to divulge matters related  connected to indigenous medicine.

The final communiqué of the meeting explains that the cooperation with media will aim at ending with the existing prejudice regarding the efficiency of indigenous medicine, through the use of vernacular languages.

The need of promoting specific training actions for journalists so as to endow them with knowledge on health based on indigenous medicine to facilitate discussion on the topic was also recommended in the forum, which took place on Monday in the city of Uíge.
