Health minister works in Bie

 

Kuito - The Angolan minister of Health, Jose Van-Dunem, is since Tuesday afternoon in Kuito city, central Bie province, to asses the actual functioning of the sector.


Upon his arrival, the government official was welcomed at the Joaquim Kapango Airport by the provincial governor of Bie, Álvaro Manuel de Boavida Neto, with whom he held a courtesy meeting along with the members of the local government.


According to a press release that reached ANGOP, the official will remain for two days in this region, where he will visit the provincial hospital, construction site of the temporary hospital, the mother and child centre of Kunje, located seven kilometres off Kuito.


José Van-Dúnem will also visit health centres and Piloto and Catemo neighbourhoods, outside the capital of Bie province, as well as the children's centre in Kuito.


As for Wednesday, according to the note, the minister will travel to the city of Chitembo, 150 kilometers south off Kuito, to assess the functioning of the sector in that municipality.


In Chitembo, José Van-Dúnem will hold a courtesy meeting with the municipal administrator, Daniel Mucanda and visit the municipal hospital, reserve land for the construction of 200 dwellings.
