Increased quick test coverage among combat malaria goals

 

Luanda - The increased coverage of rapid diagnostic tests, the expansion in coverage of mosquito-nets and better information are one of the objectives to be implemented in combat challenges of malaria in 2012/2015, said Thursday the coordinator of Programme of Fight Against Malaria, Filomeno Fortes.


Filomeno Fortes, who was speaking at the Methodological Anti-Vector Meeting, on the national strategic plan for malaria control in Angola in 2011-2015 period, pointed out the need to improve the quality of microscopic diagnosis.


The official also referred to the prevention of disruption in stocks of medicines and the implementation of cross-border initiatives, as the fixed goals.


The agenda of the meeting also include differential analysis of cases of fever and re-launch of the first pre-elimination stage of malaria project in Angola.
