Huambo - Malaria deaths in Huambo province from 2010 to 2011 moved from first to fourth place, said Thursday in this city, the health minister, José Van-Dúnem.
The government minister, who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the provincial conference on “Malaria and clinic diagnosis of measles”, which ends today, said for example that in 2010 health facilities in Huambo recorded 742 deaths from malaria, against 157 of
2011.
In relation to diagnosis, José Van-Dúnem said that in 2010 were registered 488,053 cases, against 232,825 last year.
This indication, according to the official, is the result of transverse and global intervention, improved sanitation, nutritional status, access to water, increase the information of populations, among others.
José Van-Dúnem, who commended the commitment and dedication of all health professionals in Huambo, said he believed that this region of the country will be in the first line of the results of fight against malaria.
