Geneva - Angola will attend on 21-26 May the 65th session of the World Health Assembly in Geneva (Switzerland), aimed to discuss a number of public health issues such as universal health coverage, Millennium Development Goals, noncommunicable diseases, mental disorders, nutrition and adolescent pregnancy.

The Angolan delegation in the event, led by the Health Minister, José Van-Dúnem, arrived on Tuesday in Geneva and also comprises permanent representatives of Angola to UN and International Organizations, ambassador Apolinário Correia and senior employees of the Ministry of Health.

To precede the assembly, it will be held from Wednesday to Friday the 22nd meeting of Roll Back Malaria Board and will count on a ministerial special session to discuss, among others, the general overview of current financing strategies of the countries so as to sustain the efforts made to control malaria.

A seminar on “Sanitary security of products and their challenges in world without border” is also part of the event.
