Over 600,000 children immunised against polio

Benguela - The province of Benguela expects to vaccinate in the next immunisation campaign against poliomyelitis to be held on March 2-4, about 625,000 children, reported Friday the head of the department of public health and control of endemic diseases, Antonio Manuel Cabinda.
 

Antonio Cabinda, who was speaking in a meeting with social partners, said there were involved 8,425 vaccinators to achieve the outlined objectives that aim to prevent contamination of the virus in children under five years of age.

 
For the next campaign, according to the chief, using the strategy of vaccination will be the house-to-house and in local agglomerations such as markets, schools, churches, as well as in provincial areas of transition.
