Luanda - The executive council of the Traditional Medicine Forum (FOMETRA) was opened Thursday in Luanda in a ceremony presided over by the president of the organisation, Kitoko Mayavangua “Avó Kitoko”.
Speaking to ANGOP, Avó Kitoco said that the meeting aims to bring together experts of the traditional medicine, to examine the ways should be treated as medicinal plants to cure various diseases.
According to the president, during the two days the meeting of the traditional doctors will also discuss the problems that traditional health practitioners face in carrying out their activities.
He also said that in 2011, the forum recorded 2,320 practitioners of traditional medicine and natural and 400 traditional midwifes.
At the meeting, were attended practitioners of the traditional medicine of the provinces of Luanda, Huila, Bengo, Kwanza Norte, Zaire and Uige.
