Over 40 cases of trypanosomiasis recorded in Kwanza Norte

 

Ndalatando - At least 47 new cases of trypanosomiasis were diagnosed from January to December 2011, in northern Kwanza Norte province, with no death.


According to the director of the provincial Health Department, Manuel Duarte Varela, who reported the fact to ANGOP, the above mentioned figure indicates one case more than in the same period of the previous year.


He explained that the positive cases resulted from 44,020 tests performed during the period in respect.


Manuel Varela explained that in the period under analysis, 44 patients received treatment, 33 completely cured.
