Creation of nurses'network for scientific research recommended

Huambo - Nurses and midwifes from the provinces of Huambo, Kuando-Kubango and Bié recommended on Thursday the creation of a network aimed to promote the scientific research in the region, Angop has learnt.

According to a final communiqué issued at the end of the meeting held on 25-26 January in the central Huambo province, the participants also recommended strategies for the reduction of risk of labour accidents.

The participants called for the members of the Angolan National Nurses Association (ANEA) to divulge the law on bio-security, which is comprised in the decree 62/11 of April 14.

Promoted by SADC’s Nurses and Midwives Network (SANNAM), in partnership with (ANEA), the action was aimed to reduce the risk of HIV/AIDS contamination among nurses and midwives.

The event discussed issues related to international standards of labour medical safety, advocacy of health workers, compensation for professional accident and diseases, as well as monitoring and assessment system, among others.
