Medical Order hosts Symposium on Rabies

Luanda – The Medical Order of Angola in partnership with the Veterinarians Order of Angola will hold on Wednesday in Luanda the first national Symposium on Rabies under the theme “Combating Rabies: A national Priority”.


According to a press note issued by the organization that reached Angop, the activity will be organized under the celebration of World Day Against Rabies and will address topics such as "The rabies situation in Luanda", "Clinical and laboratory diagnosis of rabies," "Problems of rabies vaccine "and" prospects for control of rabies”.


At the meeting there will be held roundtables that will discuss sub-themes like "Reflection on Rabies in children paediatric”, "Clinical and laboratory diagnosis of animal rabies" and "clinical and laboratory diagnosis of human rabies."


A study on the human rabies in Huambo will also be discussed, vaccination of animals and humans, the national rabies control programme, information, education and communication.


During the symposium will also be discussed the control of the dog population and the recommendations of FAO and WHO.


The enrolment for the activity is free and it is open in the headquarters of the Doctors and Veterinarians Orders of Angola.
