University promotes scientific activities

Cabinda - The Medicine Faculty of the 11 de Novembro University (UON), promotes in Cabinda City its second scientific activities, under the motto “Research is the true path of science”.

 

 

 

For two days, the participants will discuss themes like “Characterisation of patients with sickle cell anaemia in Cabinda”, “Frequency of appearance and clinical epidemiological characteristics of patients with HIV/AIDS in the hospitals of Cabinda and Povo Grande” and

 

“Behaviour of typhoid fever in Povo Grande during the first half of 2011”.

 

 

 

Speaking at the opening of the meeting, the governor of Cabinda, Mawete João Baptista, praised the initiative of the Medicine College of UON in the promotion of gender activities, aimed at the scientific research of diseases afflicting the population.  

 

He promised to work with the provincial secretary of health so that 52 new doctors be placed in the province.  

 

On his turn, the Principal of the 11 de Novembro U niversity, Kianvu Tamo, encouraged the board of the Medicine Faculty for the initiative of holding the scientific conferences, which have become regular for taking place every year.  

 

The meeting has the participation of students of the institution and has as lecturers national and Cuban teachers of that Faculty.
