Namibe gains new hospital

Namibe – The Government of Namibe province (southwest) is formally handing over the new maternal-infant hospital to the Health Ministry on Wednesday.


The hospital with a capacity for 300 beds, whose works are estimated to cost Akz 700 million,  has 150 beds for maternity and the rest for the paediatrics ward.


The provincial director, Josefa Cangombe, said the infra-structure will be an asset in the province, as it will provide accommodation and care for more patients and improve services.


The building has two fully equipped operating rooms, two rooms for sterilisation of material, a laboratory, an X-ray room, administrative services.
