Caála
Over 4,000 Caála women vaccinated against tetanus

Caála – A total of 4,581 women with ages between 14 and 45 years were vaccinated against tetanus this month (August) in Caála district, central Huambo province, Angop learned.


 
Speaking to Angop on Tuesday, the local director of Public Health,  Alberto da Silva, said this follows the programmes of intensification of immunisation against tetanus in the region.


 
Alberto da Silva said the programme is intended to reduce maternal and infant mortality in the district.


 
He said the campaign involved 48 health technicians working in advanced posts and the mobile clinic.

 

According to the official, 10,200 women were vaccinated from april to May 2009 in Caála district.
