Germany offers USD 93,000 to help fighting HIV/AIDS

Ondjiva  –  About USD 93,000 is the value provided by the German Government to the HIV/AIDS Prevention and Awareness Project in the districts of Kwanhama and Namacunde, province of Cunene.

The project ongoing since January is developed by the Association for the Promotion of Community Development (Mafiku) and targets sex workers through awareness and condom delivery aiming to reduce the stigma and discrimination of people living with the disease and the mitigation of the deadly virus.

According to the coordinator of the association, Domingas Chilombo Simba, the project aims to help women who deal directly with sex work through awareness, prevention, voluntary testing and psychological attendance to people infected with HIV/AIDS.

Domingas Chilombo said that the action will target about 100,000 people in nine months.
