Over 400, 000 children receive polio vaccine

Kuito – At least 421.73 children, aged five or under, received polio vaccination in the last campaign organised in June 2010, in the central Bié Province.

 

The information was given on Wednesday, by the head of the primary health care section, Óscar Eduardo Bambi, affirming that the vaccination campaign had a 100 coverage result.

 

Compared to the campaign organised in May of 2010, it was registered a light increase since 409.804 children below five were immunized.

 

The director added that religious institutions, traditional authorities and other volunteers joined this initiative especially in awareness campaign of the country and parents, aimed at taking children to vaccinators who circulate in the communities.
