Over 12,000 people vaccinated in Uige

 

Uige – At least 12,954 people, among adults and children, were vaccinated in February this year, under the Broad Vaccination Programme (PAV) and Child and Maternal Centre in northern Uíge province.


According to PAV’s official, who provided the information to Angop, Elisa Barros Calongo, of that number, 991 are children under five years of age, who have received BCG vaccine, while 3,916 were vaccinated against polio and 1,021 against measles.
 

The source said that as compared with the previous period, there has been an of 3,000 people, both males and females.


On the other hand, 5,234 pregnant women were vaccinated against tetanus whilst anothers 204 in childbearing age got also the vaccine.
