Malaria claims 574 lives in Cunene


Ondjiva– At least 574 people died of malaria, out of the 157,836 cases recorded, in the southern Cunene province, throughout 2009, a press note states.

 


According to the note, this figure represents a reduction of 90 deaths in comparison to 2008, being that this fact is due to prevention and treatment norms by population.

 


The cases were recorded in Ondjiva general hospital, Ombadja, Kwanhama, Namacunde, Cahama, Cuvelai and Curoca districts.
