Italian physicians seek cooperation with Angolans in telemedicine

Lubango – Italian orthopaedic physicians Monday in Lubango, southern Huila province, expressed interest to sign a cooperation accord with Angolan colleagues, for the transmission of new technologies for surgery through telemedicine.

The physicians are part of an Italian entrepreneurial delegation that is paying a visit to the province, seeking for new areas of investment.

Speaking to journalists, the head of the Italian delegation, Aldo Di Clemente, said that this technology will boost medicine in Angola, as it will enable a more effective treatment to orthopaedic cases.

Aldo Di Clemente said that the Italian entrepreneurs are interested to invest in the areas of garbage treatment and recycling, maintenance and cleaning of petrol stations and hospitals.

In his turn, Huila governor, Isaac dos Anjos, said the presence of Italian businesses, in response to the visit of officials from the province, in October 2009, to that European country, sets the start of a close cooperation in the domains of education, health and business, reaching 14 districts in its  starting phase.

He said Huila Government has expressed interest to reach an agreement for the supply of hospital service in Lubango and other four districts and set  up a cooperation with the Italian physicians.

The governor highlighted that the Italian businesses are surveying how Huila Government is using the aid they have been providing, hoping to take  a positive picture of the region to the community of their country.
