Health minister pledges more attention to Angolan eastern region

Saurimo – The Health minister, José Viera Dias Van- Dúnem, Monday in north-eastern Lunda Sul province, pledged a special attention to that region of the country in the resolution of problems related to health.

The minister said so on arrival in Lunda Sul, where he will stay on a two-day work visit. In addition, the Health minister said that a special attention will also be paid to diseases like malaria, tuberculosis and aids, to so-called  neglected diseases and maternal and infant
mortality.

To the minister, these concerns are associated with the shortage of qualified human resources in the eastern region of the country, where conditions for professionals should be created.

According to him, the Government hopes that the population will more and more join the health services, participating in the vaccination campaigns and other programmes.

José Van-Duném said that there is need for monitoring mechanisms that enable to check the accomplishment of outlined goals.
