Angolan Red Cross supports returnees from DRC

Uíge – The delegation of the Angolan Red Cross (CVA) in the northern Uíge Province handed over last Monday three tons of various products, to be distributed to the Angolan citizens who were expelled from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

This was said to ANGOP by CVA’s assistant for disasters, Renaldo Luvumbo Sumbo.

According to him, the handover of these properties is aimed at lessening the difficulties of the needy population and it comprises pots, recipients for water, tents, sheltering kits and serum to treat the water.

He said that this gesture will also cover the families of the victims of car accidents that killed over 30 people and injured 42 others in this province and it is aimed at reducing the scarcity faced by the citizens that were forced to leave DRC.

According to what ANGOP learnt, the local authorities currently control inUíge Province over 16,000 citizens expelled from DRC.
