USA open for dialogue with Cuba - diplomat

Luanda – The United States of America is open for dialogue with the Cuban authorities.

This was said Tuesday in Luanda to journalists, by  the US ambassador to Angola, Dan Mozena, after an audience granted to him by Angolan head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos.

He said president Obama transmitted his stand clearly, adding that he is open for dialogue with the Government of Cuba, and will allow Americans who are native of Cuba to visit that Caribbean Island and , send money to their families.

Talking about the political change in Cuba, Dan Mozena said that he is also willing to review the sanctions imposed on Cuba.

The ambassador said that this is the moment to change the relations between the two countries.

During the recent visit of the Cuban president, Raul Castro, to Angola, president José Eduardo dos Santos, defended the lifting of the embargo imposed on Cuba.

The Angolan head of State said that maintaining the sanctions imposed on Cuba does not make sense as, he added,  millions of human beings are suffering for almost half a century, in a clear sign of violation of human rights.
