Luanda - The Ministry of Trade will implement, from early 2009, security policies targeting unfair practices and protect public health, thus ensuring the protection of rights and interests of the consumers, said Tuesday in Luanda, the incumbent minister, Idalina Valente.
Addressing the first methodological meeting of the Ministry of Commerce under the motto "Consumer protection a duty of the State and society", in partnership with the National Institute for Consumer Protection (INADEC), Idalina Valente said the purpose is to promote living quality for Angolans, making their rights prevail.
The minister stressed that INADEC as a disciplinary organ of the Ministry of Commerce, was created to protect, defend, help the consumer, informing the public as a whole, on the rights of consumers.
On the other hand, INADEC also reports on the duties, regarding the complaints on the consumer goods that do not conform to the quality standards set by the law.
"We hope the INADEC consolidate the creation of a line of uniform and methodological guidance, with a primarily preventive and educational function, allowing the message to reach the consumer without any distortion, achieving the purposes envisaged by the State which are the security and well-being, "she emphasized.
According to the fourth article of the Law of Consumer in force in the country, the consumer has the right to the quality of goods and services, information and dissemination on the proper consumption of goods and services, protection of economic interests and against misleading advertising and unfair.
