Lubango – The Geology and Mining minister, Mankenda Ambroise, encouraged last Sunday entrepreneurs in the southern Huíla Province to invest in the industry of transforming ornamental rocks in the region to export a finished product.
The official, who was speaking at the end of his three-day visit to Huíla Province, said that the investment in this sector will make possible the creation of more jobs for Angolan youths, as well as will allow the collection of more revenues into the state's coffers.
Mankenda Ambroise said that the fact of exporting raw black granite causes it to be sold in a low price, which reflects negatively in the financial income of its producers and the state.
The government official considered to be relevant that the exporting companies of ornamental rocks should be the first ones to invest in this field, in order to make the export a finished product, increasing their revenues and provide jobs to Angolan people.
During his stay in the province, Mankenda Ambroise and his delegation held a courtesy meeting with the provincial governor of Huíla, Isaac dos Anjos, and visited the premises of the Hydromineral project.
This is the first visit of the Geology and Mining to the southern Huíla Province, since being appointed to this post last year.
