Demining Institute trains more than 70 sappers

Ondjiva – Seventy nine sappers from the National De-mining Institute (INAD), Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) and Border Police in Ondjiva city, southern Cunene province, completed a seminar on identification of landmine areas.

The seminar aimed at updating the sappers’ knowledge enabling them to more skilfully identify areas containing landmines.

INAD services chief in Cunene, Pedro Seteco Severino, said the training is part of an INAD programme, aimed at revising and updating modern techniques and safety measures sappers must master.

Pedro Seteco Severino stressed that despite risk to their lives, sappers have a big responsibility in securing safe flow of people and goods for the development of the country.
