Head of State writes to South Korea first president

 

Seoul - Angolan president José Eduardo dos Santos sent a message to Park Geun-hye, the first president of South Korea, sworn in on 25 February.


The message to the South Korean leader was delivered by the Angolan extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador to the Asian country, Albino Malungo.


Park Geun-hye was elected  on 19 December, 2012 and is daughter of the late President Park Chung-hee, considered the main responsible for  the country's economic development, currently the fourth major economy in Asia.


In 1992, Angola and South Korea established diplomatic ties strengthened in 2001, following the official visit by the Angolan  President José Eduardo dos Santos to that country at the invitation of ex-president , Kim Dae-jung.


South Korea  opened its embassy in Luanda on December 2007, while Angola installed its diplomatic mission in Seoul on 12 November 2008, under the strengthening of diplomatic ties.
