Cabinda- The deputy governor of northern Cabinda province for Business Affairs, Macário Lembe, Saturday here considered excellent the relations with the neighbouring Congo Brazzaville, in view of the links uniting the two countries over the years.
Macário Lembe was addressing a ceremony that marked the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of the Congo Brazzaville General Consulate in Cabinda.
The official mentioned that the years of the consulate’s existence witnesses the blood and cooperation ties between the two countries, peoples and states.
"Congo Brazzaville has a history in the revolution of the Angolan people since the beginning of the armed liberation struggle. Thanks to this, our country which is independent since 1975 counted on the support of the brother people of Congo Brazzaville,” said the official.
The Cabinda deputy governor said the consulate has been so useful in getting visa for travels to that neighbouring country.
He then appealed to all embassies to open consulates in that province to facilitate the local populations seeking visa, including a large number of resident foreigners travelling to various parts of the world.
In his turn, the Congo Brazzaville consul in Cabinda, Otsenguet Irchambot, said the purpose of the diplomatic mission in the Angolan territory was to continue with the reinforcement of bilateral cooperation in various fields of the economic, political and other affairs between the two countries.
