Geneva – The 21st Ordinary Session of the Human Rights Council that started Monday in Geneva, Switzerland, praised Angola for the successful election of august 31 this year, as a contribution to the reinforcement of the consolidation of democracy in Africa.
The session that was witnessed by the United Nations secretary general, Ban Ki moon, is set to hold a debate focusing on the progress recorded in the process of reform of the mechanisms and organs of the Human Rights Council.
The meeting will also focus on matters of the current international affairs, with a stress to the human rights situation in Syria, Mali, Eritrea, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Sudan, Côte d’Ivoire and Palestine.
