Dos Santos wishes success to Mozambican leader at SADC chair

Maputo - The Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, in a message delivered Thursday in Maputo, wished successes to his Mozambican counterpart Armando Guebuza, for the Presidency of the Southern African Development Community (SADC).


The letter was delivered by the vice president of Republic, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, who arrived Wednesday in Mozambican capital, to represent the Angolan President at the 32nd Summit of the Heads of State and Government of SADC, to be held Friday and Saturday.


Jose Eduardo dos Santos expresses readiness to continue working to consolidate the regional integration programme.

 

Angola ends Friday the functions of president of the regional organization, passing it to Mozambique, for a one-year period.


According to Fernando da Piedade, in the message the President wishes “a good exercise for Armando Guebuza, of whom were are fully confident.


Taking into account its pragmatism and experience, Mozambique will make a contribution towards the development and stabilization of the SADC”.


The vice president said the meeting also served to inform the President Guebuza about the electoral process in Angola.
