Political parties assess progress of election campaign in Benguela

Benguela - Representatives from the political parties and coalitions in southern Benguela province contesting for August 31 general elections assessed Monday the first week of election campaign, under the initiative of local district administration.


During the meeting the participants analysed the indecent behaviour demonstrated by militants from some parties, characterised by actions of vandalism recorded in the first days of election campaign.


Speaking to Angop, the chairperson of Municipal electoral commission, Eliseu Januário, termed the meeting much important.
According to him, the event opened the room enabling the representatives of the political organisations find out solution for the incidents recorded in the region.


The municipal administrator of Benguela, Leopoldo Muhongo, announced that the meetings of the kind will take place every Monday in order to discourage  those instigating the violence.
