Malanje – At least 1,029 polling station assistant candidates of a total of 1«2,962 have been cleared by the Malanje (north) Municipal Electoral Commission (CME) and are attending training for a good performance during the general election of August 31 in Angola.
The information was released Tuesday in Malanje by the CME spokesperson, Fernandes Cristóvão, who added that the remainder part of those selected will be attending the second phase of the training on August 17.
The source on the occasion appealed to residents to participate with civism in the election of monthend.
During the two phases of the training, the polling station assistant candidates will tackle topics related to reception of electoral materials, outdoors, polling station equipment, role of logistics supervisor, operator of voter information system, identification, constitution and functioning of polling stations.
The opening of ballot boxes, blank and invalid ballot papers, ballot papers transportation, individual filling of forms and doubts clearing are also part of the subjects for the training.
