Luanda - The president of Angola’s governing party MPLA Jose Eduardo dos Santos, Tuesday in Luanda, said that the parliamentary elections scheduled for next August 31, is a more decisive moment in the life of his party.
"This is a decisive moment in the life of our party. It is a moment that requires the unity of our ranks, discipline and activist work," he said while speaking at the presentation ceremony of the MPLA Governance Programme for 2012/2017 and its Election Manifesto.
He said it was also a time that requires the participation of all who feel identified with the ideals of the MPLA.
"Only united will we be able to mobilize for our cause all those who are aware of the important role MPLA plays in the building of Angolan Nation and safeguarding of its fundamental principles and values", said president Jose Eduardo dos Santos.
He emphasized that the MPLA wants to achieve a great victory on 31st August.
In the event, José Eduardo dos Santos was flanked by vice president and general secretary of the MPLA, Roberto Victor de Almeida and Julião Mateus Paulo "Dino Matrosse", respectively.
The ceremony took place in the Belas Conference Centre and was attended by provincial first secretaries of the MPLA, the party members, government members, representatives of civil society, churches leaders and the diplomatic corps accredited in the country.
