Maputo - The 9th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community (CPLP) started on this Friday morning, with welcoming remarks addressed by the President  of Mozambique, Armando Guebuza, highlighting the advances recorded by the organization.

 

 

The Mozambican statesman also highlighted the boosting of Brasilia action plan and Angolan performance during its presidency that enabled the reinforcement of cooperation among member states.

 

 

He considered necessary to restore the legality in Guinea Bissau and praised the role played by Angola in this regard, with the creation of then MISSANG.  

 

On the other hand, Armando Guebuza congratulated the Angolan people civics shown during the pre electoral campaign taking place, in view to their participation the general elections, set for August 31.

 

 

The Vice-president of Angola, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, left on Thursday Luanda for Maputo in Mozambique, to attend the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Portuguese Speaking Countries Community, in representation of the Angolan President, José Eduardo dos Santos.
