Police detain one of killers of Angolan student in Brazil


 Brasilia - The Angolan Embassy in Brazil was informed on Thursday about  the arrest of Jose Marcelo de Vasconcelos, one of the alleged perpetrators of the murder of  the Angolan student, Zumira Cardoso, last May in Sao Paulo.


 
The State Department of Murder and Protection of the Person in Sao Paulo reported that the killer was detained Thursday morning in the outskirts of Sao Paulo, after the police investigation works that led to hypothesize that they were two people involved in the murder of Zumira Cardoso and injury of three other Angolans.


 
The Embassy and the General Consulate of Angola in Sao Paulo to the Brazilian authorities have expressed their satisfaction at the commitment of the police in seeking clarification of the case, effectively encouraging the police to pursue investigations.

 

Given the murder of student Angolan Zumira Cardoso, the Embassy of Angola requested the Brazilian authorities the greatest commitment to see justice made at the same time constituted a lawyer to defend the interests of the student's family murdered and wounded in crime.
