MP calls on all political actors to support disarmament campaign

Luanda – Member of parliament Nuno Carnaval last Tuesday, in Luanda, called on all political actors to get more involved with the mobilisation campaign for disarmament of citizens in illegal possession of firearms, so that this year’s elections can take
place in  a harmonious environment.


   
Nuno Carnaval, who is also co-ordinator of the Parliament’s sub-commission for young people’s matters, spoke to ANGOP last Tuesday in the ambit of the ongoing process of disarming citizens in illegal possession of firearms.


  
 He said certainly all the political actors hope that the coming elections, scheduled for August 31, take place in an environment of peace, tranquillity and that it can promote the strengthening of unity and national reconciliation.

 

“This is not an easy process and it deserves the attention and commitment of all Angolans (…)”, he stressed.

 

The process of disarming citizens in illegal possession of firearms is being conducted by the National Police.
