Minister reaffirms free registration for zero, 18-year people

Namibe – The Angolan Justice minister, Guilhermina Prata, Tuesday in south-western Namibe province, reaffirmed that birth registration for people aged from zero to 18 years remains free of charge.

The minister was speaking to journalists at the end of a visit to Namibe province.

Guilhermina Prata said keeping birth registration free follows recommendations from the 5th national forum on children held last year.

The official also stated that besides being free of charge, birth registration of persons with ages from zero to 18 years suffered an 80 percent cut in the fees for the purpose.

According to the minister, the Government will continue working to grant all citizens the right to registration as a crucial step towards citizenship.
