Rio de Janeiro – The Vice-president of Republic, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, exhorted on Friday in Rio de Janeiro the general mobilisation of youths for the construction of a better world so as to face the future with trust.
Fernando da Piedade said so at the end of a visit paid to the Angolan stand in African pavilion that was created on the fringes of the Summit of Heads of State and Government on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), happening since Wednesday in Brazil.
He also urged the young people to continue with efforts made for ensuring the sustainable development and the satisfaction of needs of the current and future generations.
Fernando da Piedade said that despite not having achieved its goals, Rio+20 Summit is a landmark that introduces a new way of discussing issues related to the conservation of the planet and thus guarantee the sustainable development.
The official said that henceforth the green economy will be heard very often.
According to him, it is agreed that to achieve sustainable development is needed to fight with determination the poverty, ensure education to all citizens and promote solidarity.
The event is being attended by Heads of State and Government from 193 countries.
In representation of the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos, the Vice-president of the Republic leads a delegation of Angolan that is comprised by representatives of ministries and embassies in Brazil, US and Tanzania.
