Luanda - The National Youth Council (CNJ) is joining the National Electoral Commission (CNE) in a door-to-door civic education campaign with a view to covering the highest possible number of citizens.

The information was released Thursday in Luanda by the CNJ chairperson, Claúdio Aguiar, saying his organisation is committed to bringing together all its members and the youth at large to participate in the electoral civic education.

"It is our understanding that each of us as a youth must mobilise either within the family or community, towards a massive participation in the elections of August 31,” he stated.

According to Claúdio Aguiar, CNJ is a CNE partner in this campaign and its provincial and municipal bodies will get involved in the process.

The campaign that started Thursday is intended to inform the voters about their rights and duties, the dates and places and time for the elections.

It is also meant to inform the voters about the procedures for the election of the President of the Republic, the Vice President of the Republic and the National Assembly (Angolan Parliament) members.
