Trade Minister foresees progress in textile industry

Washington - The Minister of Trade, Idalina Valente, said n Saturday in Washington D.C that she expects better days for the Angolan textile industry and consequent exporting of the product, Angop has learnt.

 

The minister said so in the ambit of the forum of African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA).

 

According to her, the Angolan Executive has been taking the first steps for the re-activation of the textile industry, aiming to become one of the greatest producing countries of this product and then export it.

 

AGOA is a legislation that was approved by the U.S. Congress in May 2000 and aims to assist the economies of sub-Saharan Africa and to improve economic relations between the United States and the region.
