FAA preparedness must conform with strategic conceptions - Chief of Staff

Luanda - The preparedness and development of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) must comply with the strategic concepts and chances of employment, said Monday  in Luanda, the chief of FAA Staff, gen. Geraldo Sashipengo Nunda.

 

The chief of Staff was speaking at the opening of the 1st course of training and upgrading of general officers, commanders and members of the General Staff from large units.

 

Gen. Nunda said that the preparation and development of FAA should therefore meet the strategic skill of mobility (projection of forces), sustainability, expansion (for mobilisation), operationality (acting with readiness and effectively in employment scenarios) and modularity (force required according to the conflict).

 

He explained that the directive from the Commander-in-Chief of the Angolan Armed Forces, José Eduardo dos Santos, on the rebuilding of the National Army, establishes the creation of large military units, at the level of division and Army bodies, Aviation and Fleet, operating with strategic group for the Angolan Navy.

 

Gen. Nunda urged the generals to avail themselves of the three month-training programme, starting Tuesday, May 8 in Luanda.
