Menongue- Higino Carneiro was elected, over the weekend, as the first provincial secretary of the MPLA party in the southern Kuando Kubango province, ANGOP has learnt.

The election was decided by the 352 delegates to the 2nd Extraordinary Conference of  MPLA in Kuando-Kubango, in replacement of Manuel Francisco Tura "Batalha de Angola".

The delegates also elected a new provincial committee, as well as re-elected João António Lineya as second provincial secretary of MPLA.

"I hope you count on me, on my effort, dedication and also with respecting the statute and rules of the party, abiding by the principle of defending the fairness of the noble ideals of  MPLA", he stressed.
