Cabinda - National Police role in protection of Citizen and Human Rights was analysed Wednesday during a lecture held in Belize, northern Cabinda province, by the Military Prosecutor's Office of the 1st Infantry Division of Military Region Command.
The event coincides with another anniversary of the National Police to be marked on 28th February.
Addressing the meeting, the Lt. Col. Firmino Machado Correia, military prosecutor of the 1st Infantary Division of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) in Cabinda said that the corporation play an important role in protecting citizens and preservation of their rights.
After stressing the care about human rights, the FAA senior officer said that the police is the guarantor of security and tranquillity of the people, and to this purpose theyshould fulfil their role of maintaining order and protecting citizens.
The participants also approached the issue related to the military crimes, having appealed to the staff of the national police for the rigour while fulfilling their tasks and obligations aimed at securing safety and protection of citizens.
Attended the lecture, senior police and armed forces officers, deputy prosecutor and director of criminal police of the 1st division.
Other junior officers, sergeants, soldiers and agents of the Angolan Armed Forces and National Police also attended the meeting.
