Luanda – The Angolan vice president, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, left Luanda Saturday for the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, for a work visit from February 12-16, at the invitation of his local counterpart, Nguyen Thi Doan.

The vice president was seen off at the Luanda “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport by the Social Welfare minister, João Baptista Kussumua, and other Cabinet officials.

According to a source from his Office, while in Vietnam, the vice-president will inaugurate the first Angolan ambassador to the Asian nation.

The programme, according to the source, includes visits to social and economic undertakings in the Ho Chi Minh city, seen as the country’s major economic centre.

The visit of Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos to Vietnam is part of the common efforts to have friendship and cooperation between the two countries reinforced.
