Lisbon - The vice-president of the Republic of Angola, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, has left Lisbon, Portugal, returning to the country, after attending the opening ceremony of the new headquarters of the Community of Portuguese-speaking Countries (CPLP).
In Portela airport, he was seen off by the minister of Foreign Affairs, Georges Chikoti, the minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, the CPLP executive secretary, Domingos Simões Pereira, ambassador of Angola in Portugal, Marcos Barrica, and other diplomats.
During his four-day stay, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, on behalf of the Angolan Head of State, José Eduardo dos Santos attended the solemn session of inauguration of the headquarters of the CPLP.
In the act, which was attended by dignitaries of the international body’s member States, the Angolan vice president and President of the Portuguese Republic, Aníbal Cavaco Silva, he cut the ribbon and unveiled the plaque.
