Ruling party presses for early approval of electoral laws

Luanda – The Central Committee of the ruling MPLA party has recommended the Politburo to make efforts for an early approval of the main laws that pave the way for the holding of general elections in Angola as planned.

This is contained in the final communiqué from MPLA’s 4th Ordinary Meeting held Friday in Luanda, under its president, José Eduardo dos Santos.

Assessing the results of the voter registration and updating process set to end on April 15 this year, the ruling party appealed to its militants, supporters, friends and the public in general to continue registering in order to vote in the 2012 polls.

The meeting also served for the organisation to approve the General Plan of Activities for 2012, as well as the bases for the drafting of the list of candidates for the National Assembly (Angolan Parliament).
