Over 29.000 citizens registered to vote in current update stage


Uige – A total of 29.725 citizens registered to vote in the coming general elections, in the northern Uige Province, data that cover the period that goes from 05 January to 7 February 2012, as part of the current electoral registry update process. 

 

The acting co-ordinator of the electoral commission provincial commission, António Aiendakio, who has given the information to ANGOP, also revealed that out of the mentioned number, 5.599 citizens registered for the first time.

 

He said 29 registration brigades are involved in the process, which is happening without setbacks in all of the municipalities of the province.

 

He also revealed that the commission is now waiting for the air transport means (helicopters) to improve the work that is currently being supported by 26 vehicles.
 

Meanwhile, data from the first stage of the voters registration process, which happened from 29 July to 16 December 2010, show that 357.479 confirmed their registration, in Uige Province.
