Luanda – The president of the ruling MPLA party, José Eduardo dos Santos, called on Friday in Luanda for the Angolan people to have a real understanding of what is being carried out towards their benefit, as Angola came out from long armed conflict.

The Angolan statesman said so while addressing the opening ceremony of the 4th meeting of MPLA Central Committee.

José Eduardo dos Santos defended that the population should also understand and reject consciously a lot of campaigns to defame the party, Angolan executive and its officials.

According to him, thanks to great work of clarification and awareness by MPLA, the people is politically matured enough and always knew to distinguish well who is working for the defence of their interests form who only want to take advantage of their good faith.

The central committee of the ruling MPLA party is meeting on Friday in Luanda in order to assess the document on the principles and criteria to be adopted and thus draft the list of candidates to the National Assembly in the next elections and governance programme for 2013/2017 period.

The meeting is being attended by 286 members of the central committee out of 311 ones and it will analyse the report of politburo of the ruling party, balance of 2011 programme and general plan project of the party for 2012.
