Luanda - A Parliamentary cooperation agreement between the parliamentary groups of the ruling parties in Angola and Mozambique, respectively MPLA and Frelimo was signed Friday in Luanda at the end of Mozambican delegation's few-day visit to Angola.
Signed the document were the leaders of parliamentary benches of MPLA Virgílio de Fontes Pereira and Frelimo, Margarida Talapa, at the presence of the members from the two delegations.
Comprising eight articles and valid for a period of two years, the document stipulates that the bilateral relations between the parliamentary groups of MPLA and Frelimo are based on the principles of autonomy, equality and mutual support.
Similarly, the parties agree to develop multifaceted cooperation in the interest of strengthening the relations among their MPs and parliamentary officials.
Moreover, they agreed to undertake regular exchange of information related to the development of political, parliamentary, social and economic situation in their respective countries on their internal activity.
Still in the context of the agreement, it is also expected further development of exchanges in various fields of parliament, through the regular exchange of delegations and participation in events that each arranges.
On the other hand, the deal also provide for promotion of bilateral consultations for agreement on view points while attending the meeting.
At the end of the ceremony, the leader of the MPLA parliamentary group, Virgilio de Fontes Pereira, told reporters that the agreement was signed following the strong ties that already exist between the two parliaments and MPs of both parties.
In her turn, the counterpart of Mozambique, Margarida Talapa, considered the visit excellent.
