Luanda - The MPLA Central Committee will hold Friday in Luanda the Fourth Ordinary Session, which will analyze the current situation of the party and the new challenges ahead of coming general elections scheduled for the current year.
The meeting will be led by the party’s leader José Eduardo dos Santos, and will analysed the compliance of guidelines from the third ordinary session held last January.
In that session of the MPLA Central Committee, held on 15 January 2011, the militant Carlos Maria Feijó was elected a member of the party’s Politburo.
According to the statement adopted at the end of the meeting, the election of lawyer Carlos Feijo to the MPLA Political Bureau was made under the proposal of the party’s leader, José Eduardo dos Santos for the completion of the vacancy that existed in that body.
On the other hand, the meeting approved the resolution of the Political Bureau to suspend the party membership and mandate of the Central Committee of Antonio Egidio de Sousa "Discipline," as incompatible with the new functions in the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA).
